by of the Star Brigade for everyone
Hi. My name is Lorra and I'm here as an artist who wants to use my talents to help the survivors of Ondoy and Pepeng.

My boyfriend and I set up a project called START HERE, collecting artwork from artists all over the world with the aim of inspiring the survivors to move on to better lives and those who can to help. We believe that beyond the concrete ways of helping such as joining relief operations and donating money, there is the abstract and yet somehow equally (if not more) powerful and longer lasting inspiration of art that conveys hope, creation and rebuilding.

For more details, please head on to our blog http://rebuild-starthere.blogspot.com. We also have a growing Facebook group at http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=143893607229. For questions or comments, please e-mail us at starthere.rebuild@gmail.com.

We'd really appreciate the support and we hope that you can help us spread the word.

Congratulations for doing the right thing! It's always nice to see people who are taking extra effort to help other people. My boyfriend is an artist too, actually most of my friends are artists here. Let us know what we could do to help. Good luck and God bless!

Hi Maam! I just want to ask what the requirements are and how do I send the paintings? I am more than willing to share my talent on this event.

Hi! Jack?

Currently, we're accepting soft copy versions of traditional artwork since we don't have storage space for the actual pieces. If you can send us an 8"x8", 300dpi scan or photo of your paintings, it would be great. You can send it to starthere.rebuild@gmail.com.

You can also go to the blog (http://rebuild-starthere.blogspot.com) for more details on how to submit artwork.

If you're in Manila this Sunday, November 15, we will be having a sketch-a-thon, a whole day event where people can just come in and draw hopeful artwork and you're invited to come. It's going to be in Fully Booked Bonifacio High Street, from 10am-7pm and you can come in at any time that's convenient for you.
